  • The Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, 19721

The 18th Article of the Constitution of the People's Republic of Bangladesh (1972) states that "the State shall endeavour to protect and improve the environment and to preserve and safeguard the natural resources, bio-diversity, wetlands, forests and wild life for the present and future citizens."

The Bangladesh's Environment Protection Act, 1995, "provides for the protection of the environment, the improvement of the environmental standard and the control and abatement of the pollution of the environment".
