  • Basic Law of Governance, 1992

The Basic Law of Governance of Saudi Arabia1 of 1992 states in its 33rd Article that “the State shall preserve the environment and its natural balance in order to achieve comprehensive and sustainable development for all generations.”

Saudi Arabia has also published a Document of the Preservation and Environmental Protection Department on the environmental protection standards (only in Arabic) in 1982.
