  • Constitution of the Republic of Nauru1, 1968

The Constitution of Nauru does not explicitly provide for environmental protection but contains the following provisions regarding natural resources and environment:

9. (1.) "No person shall without his consent be subject to the search of his person or property or the entry on his premises by other persons. (2.) Nothing contained in or done under the authority of any law shall be held to be inconsistent with or in contravention of the provisions of clause (1.) of this Article to the extent that that law makes provision (a) that is reasonably required in the interests of defence, public safety, public order, public morality, public health, the development or utilisation of natural resources or the development or utilisation of any property for a purpose beneficial to the community; [...]".
